Shooting

Having inadvertently become the chief nanny and organiser of the annual shooting trip for The Lenches Gun Club over the last few years, arrangements are now in place for 6 of us to take on Vilamoura again in October 2007. Many cartridges will be discharged at even more clays, there will be much analysis of missed targets, with excuses for them being many, albeit articulately and convincingly expressed. But, at the end of the day, 100% of the clays that are missed will have been so because the gun was pointing in the wrong direction! Wine will be drunk and food will be taken, but not necessarily in equal quantities, and the company will be good, as always.

Harley Stuff '07

Having taken my first major trip to the European HOG Rally Killarney in June 2006, I continued with a brief sortie to Normandy in September and enjoyed them both immensely. So, I have now booked up for a trip to Annecy in May 2007, riding the Alps, then another to the European HOG Rally in Fuengirola in June. Both promise to be good fun with friends from my local Rolling Hills Chapter, the oldest in Europe. More news should follow in due course.

Asia '07

Leaving 7 March, with Jean, Mike and Karen, we will head for Dubai, then drive to and from Oman, transit Bangkok on the way to Hanoi, Hue, Hoi An and Saigon with touring in each, then to Koh Samui to chill out for a while before taking in the Rugby 7's in Hong Kong at the end of the month. We're away for nearly a month and it is a trip of two halves - a lot of short stops for 2 weeks, then 2 weeks of more relaxing time in Koh Samui and Hong Kong. Well, maybe Hong Kong will have quite a bit of socialising and not be quite so relaxing all of the time! I have lived and worked in Oman, Vietnam and Hong Kong in the past, and been to all the other locations, some several times. However, I'm looking forward to the revisits, particularly to Oman because I was last there in 1980.
