St Lucia 1

LIAT were nearly on time on this leg and no change of flight number too! A dramatic flight into the coastal airport – Jean saw all the way to the runway – and we landed early afternoon to then enjoy more contour driving with steep slopes and hairpin bends for over an hour to get to the resort, before disappointment. The hotel was overbooked and we were to be moved to another resort for one night. A robust encounter with the Manager brought no change and we moved. In fact, we were housed not far away in a secluded villa with a private pool, hammock, and a fantastic outlook from it over the sea and the sunset, in a small pretty development. Free cocktails and dinner added to the appeasement! Breakfast also brought a stunning view of Petit Piton, one of the two volcanic outcrops between which the resort we should have been at is situated. We spent the day enjoying the pool and some light rain showers before being transported back to Jalousie to check in.
