Harley-Davidson 105th Anniversary - Minehead #5

The rain interfered with the stunt show and limited the tricks that Harley's champion stunt rider could perform, because of a lack of grip. Trying to lift a 300kg Harley up into a wheelie became nearly impossible unless the tyre was burned out for a while beforehand for grip, but he did it. He was still pretty impressive doing wheelies and stoppies, including dropping his Chinese partner's helmet peak onto the tarmac while standing on the front axle in a stoppie, despite the conditions. Apparently he came off practicing in the wet later in the day with some wrist damage. The drag racing was also thwarted due to the rain. After two test runs on separate occasions, the traction became zero with rain as they use slick tyres and as they only a single brake disc to stop that became a problem as well on the shortened track in a car park.

Overall a fun weekend despite the rain, but it would have been a bit better without. Jean's first rally experience as an Associate Member of HOG! Roll on the European Rally in northern Italy in late September!
